Quirky App Of The Day: Zombie Barnyard Animal Rescue

February 27, 2012
I never thought that I would see a zombie trying to save helpless animals. Yet, that's exactly what happens in Zombie Barnyard Animal Rescue. I assumed that by "saving," it meant eating the animals to put them out of their misery. With the animals being zombie animals themselves, I'm not entirely sure that eating the animals will be a problem.

The zombie is as brainless as you could expect it to be. The only control you have over him is to push the start and stop buttons. As easy as that sounds, it's not so simple. Your zombie's only line of defense is your ability to draw lines that act as walls, bridges or ramps. Walls are the only means of turning him around. Bridges and ramps are the only way to get him to move upwards. For some strange reason, these farm animals have managed to get themselves stuck in trees. It's like a morbid fireman rescue of a cute, flesh-rotting kitten. The lines you draw don't last for forever. They disappear after a little while. However, if you made a royal mess out of things and want all the lines to be gone, there is an eraser button that takes care of that. Once you've managed to gather up your farmyard friends, it's time to send your zombie shuffling off to the flagpole. The flagpole is the end-point of the level. Sometimes, it's as hard to get to as the animals. Zombie Barnyard Animal Rescue is an iPhone app available in the App Store for $0.99.
