Zinio, the San Francisco-based digital newsstand service, today announced the launch of ZINIO FUSION, a new tool suite designed for publishers and advertisers to help them more quickly create interactive content. Unsurprisingly, this should be great news for tablet owners, as it will likely lead to more collaborative magazines and newspapers.

ZINIO FUSION combines three different approaches and products for enhancing design and interaction. These include FUSION Web, FUSION Design and FUSION Link.

FUSION Web is an online do-it-yourself web tool that allows the embedding of rich media, including audio and video. FUSION Design, in comparison, uses an Adobe InDesign plug-in to offer a simple build-out for interactive and multi-layered pages.

Finally, FUSION Link offers seamless integration and content transcoding for external third-party authoring tools such as Woodwing’s Digital Publishing Solution.
