Drifter Drifting To Your iOS Device Soon

March 19, 2012
In 2010, indie developer Colin Walsh and Celsius Game Studios, released their début title Red Nova. Red Nova was nominated for seven awards in the 2010 Best App Ever Awards. Even now, Red Nova is still on my iPhone and enjoys a regular play. When I heard that Celsius Game Studios where working on their next title I couldn't help getting excited. As I've watched its development progress I can tell you I get more excited by the day. The one man team at Celsius Game Studios recently released their latest teaser trailer for their new game, named Drifter. While the game is still in the middle of its development, I think you will agree its certainly shaping up nicely: Drifter is going to be a space trading game, reminiscent of Elite from "back in the day," featuring a large, procedurally generated galaxy to explore and trade in. Throw into the mix a multitude of space pirates, miners and other aliens and you have the makings of an exceptionally interesting title. The trading aspect of the game also sounds like a fun proposition making this game almost like an offline version of EVE Online. The cherry on the top of the space faring cake is that Colin Walsh has managed to secure a soundtrack from Danny Baranowsky. If the name doesn't sound familiar, maybe his work will. Danny created the music for indie classics Canabalt, Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Issac. Quite an illustrious resume I think you'll agree. Drifter is scheduled for release a bit later in the year. The plan is currently the summer so be sure to keep an eye on AppAdvice for all of the latest news.
