Popular Feature Goes Missing On iTunes
Inquiring minds want to know: What happened to Apple’s “Free on iTunes” section? Beginning this week, in the U.S. anyway, the popular section has gone missing, according to TUAW. First launched in 2006, “Free on iTunes” was found on the front page of iTunes, as well as on the site’s main Music page. Currently, the link on the front page has been replaced with a “Free Book” offer for The Beatle’s Yellow Submarine adaptation. Apple’s Web-based, “How to Find Free Content on iTunes,” page remains online. [caption id="attachment_285292" align="aligncenter" width="800" caption="Freebies In iTunes"][/caption] We’re not sure this means anything and attempts by TUAW to contact Apple PR for a statement have gone unanswered. For now, you can still find terrific free music and videos by going into individual sub-stores, including the Music store and TV store. Look in the "More in" and "Quick Links" sections on the right side of the page. We thank TUAW for uncovering this news.
