Mameshiba catch ($0.99) by Kickapoo Co.,Ltd. is an adorable game based on the Japanese talking bean characters called Mameshiba. Grab your chopsticks and try to catch these slippery beans before they fall off the table. Collect all 43 of the Mameshiba characters, including some rare ones to add to your collection, as well.

The goal of the game is to catch the slippery beans with chopsticks as they fall to the ground. There are 34 different Mameshiba characters, plus nine extra rare ones, that will fall alongside regular beans. Once caught, these characters are added to the player’s collection.

To catch a bean, tap on it. If your aim was good, and the bean was not too “slippery,” a pair of chopsticks will appear and hold it. Then, drag it across the screen to the nearby plate and let go. Each level requires players to catch a certain number of regular beans before a Mameshiba bean will appear. Once the Mameshiba is caught, the level ends. If you are unsuccessful at catching one before it falls to the ground, you lose.

Once the Mameshiba beans have been collected, players can visit them in the Mameshiba Guide. Here, you can see how many you’ve collected and read each bean’s profile. For example, “Chili Bean” is passionate, cheesy, and on the lookout for romantic love.

Although the theme is unbelievably adorable, the game is not as innocent as it looks. Because the beans are supposed to be slippery, they are very hard to catch. If you time it just right and tap the exact center, you’ll have better luck catching the little guys, but be prepared. It is going to be hard work.

This game is too cute to pass up. It is so adorable that you will want to hug and squeeze your iPhone. It is also an entertaining and challenging casual game, worth every bit of the $0.99 it costs. The only complaint I have is that there aren’t more levels and more Mameshibas to collect. You’ll never look at beans the same way again.
