Bankers vs. Humans HD ($0.99) by Neuchâtel Ltd. is a casual game that features some great stress relieving gameplay. In this game, you can play as four different characters - the slick banker, the fat trader, the hippie, or the intellectual.
There are two different story lines to follow. If you play as the hippie or the intellectual, you will fly around the globe sabotaging hedge funds, destroying shares, and deleting important bank files.
If you play as the banker or the trader, you’ll fly from location to location in order to avoid relentless protestors.
The gameplay, though, is the same no matter which character you choose. This is a tilt motion game where the goal is to jump from a plane with a parachute and reach the ground safely, collecting power ups and gold while you free fall.
There are an endless stream of objects to avoid, like planes, SEC officials, protestors in hot air balloons, rockets, lightning bolts, handcuffs, zombie pills, and more. You can pick up items like magnets (for gathering coins), rocket launchers (for destroying enemies), jetpacks, and parachutes.
If you’re hit by something that shreds your parachute, like a rocket, you’ll be forced to employ the golden parachute. You’re given a limited number of these, and to progress through the game you will need to purchase more from the in game store using the coins earned in each level.
When you complete a level, you receive a promotion and the story line progresses. For the banker and the trader, this will involve avoiding even more protestors, and for the hippie and the intellectual, it will involve completing more bank sabotaging missions. The game gets more difficult with every promotion, and you will need to efficiently use your power ups to get through hordes of enemies. The ultimate goal is to become the president (human) or CEO (banker).
This game does not have Retina graphics, and it doesn’t look great on the newest iPad. While it looks slightly better on the iPhone, it’s still pixellated, but let’s face it - no one is playing this game for its graphics. Bankers vs. Humans is all about the funny banker-destroying story line and the hilarious tongue-in-cheek sayings spouted by each of the four characters.
Though this is meant to be a silly game, the gameplay is well done. The tilt motion controls are smooth and functional, and the fast-paced action will have you hooked in no time.
Whether you’re a part of the 99 percent or the 1 percent, this game, with its fun hippie vs. banker gameplay is sure to keep you entertained. If you’re looking for some stress relief and an escape from every day life, Bankers vs. Humans HD is a solid choice.
