Mr. Potato Head was a classic children’s game in my day. You know, before children under the age of 10 could play on the computer or with cell phones. I’m also a fan of the Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story with his rendition of Picasso. An app dedicated to arranging facial features on a root seemed to be right up my alley. PotatoMan may not be the official Mr. Potato Head from back in the day, but he comes pretty close.
Mrs. Potato Woman
Just like Mr. Potato Head crossing his fingers and hoping for a Mrs. Potato Head every holiday, I too am a fan of Mrs. Potato Head. So, my experiment became female with some make up and done-up hair. The app boasts over 70 items for your potato creation. There are the basic facial features, and there are also things like shoes, hair accessories, and even sports equipment.
While there is a paid version, there aren’t many items that are locked in the free version. The paid version added swimming clothes and accessories. I still had a wide variety to choose from. Unlike many apps that make you wonder why in the world the developers even bothered with a free version, this app has plenty in the free version to make it worth your while.
Down at the bottom, there’s an arrow that opens up the features menu. Just tap and drag the item onto your potato to dress it or give it facial features. If you happen to not like what you chose, there’s a garbage can in the bottom right corner. Just drag the item to the garbage to discard it. If you want to clear the entire potato, shake your iDevice.
Once you’ve completed your creation, you can click on the camera icon to save it to your camera roll, or you can send it in an email to friends.
