In the days before Mario Bros. and Angry Birds, family and friends would gather around to play their favorite board game, such as those highlighted in our Best iPad Board Games AppList. A seemingly simple activity, but one that still offered plenty of entertainment value.
Containing five popular board games, including some variations, Best Board Games is designed to provide the same wholesome fun that players of nearly any age can enjoy.
Ludo Classic, Ludo Deluxe, and Ludo Club Teams allow two to four players and are the classic games of racing around the board in a “+” shaped path using four game pieces in an attempt to reach the “home” space first. Some may know the game by the name Parcheesi, and notice the strong resemblance to Sorry! and Trouble.
Snakes and Ladders, otherwise known as Chutes and Ladders, is a game involving two to six players racing to the finish block in a back and forth pattern. Along the route are snakes and ladders, which operate as alternate paths. Land on a snake head and you’ll be returned to an earlier block. Come upon a ladder and you’ll be taken to a later, higher numbered, block.
El Juego de la Oca, translated to The Game of the Goose, allows two to six players and consists of moving around the game board in a circular pattern with a decreasing diameter to reach block 63. Similar to Snakes and Ladders, Juego de la Oca has special blocks that work like shortcuts. It appears, this particular board game is based on the Spain TV show of the same name.
All five games include basic instructions, human and computer-controlled player selection, player pairing, and optional automatic or manual game piece movement.
