Fruit Ninja Serves Up Some Sweet Ninja Moves In Fruitiest Update Yet

May 24, 2012
Halfbrick Studios teased their imminent welcome just a few days ago. And now, the quirky duo of Gutsu and Truffles has arrived in Fruit Ninja. The successful fruit slicing game from Halfbrick, which has also earned success with the endless runner Jetpack Joyride, has just received a major update. The update brings a bowlful of new game elements, enough perhaps to make a delicious fruit salad. Fruit Ninja now has bomb deflects, berry blasts, peachy time, and starfruit. And all of these can be obtained from the traveling merchant Gutsu and his porky pal Truffles. After installing the update, you'll find a new section called Gutsu's Cart. Here you'll be able to buy power-ups that flick nasty bombs off the screen, berries that explode when sliced, and peaches that extend the time in arcade and zen modes. To get any of these, you'll be needing some starfruit. You can buy starfruit from Gutsu right then and there with your real-world money. Or you can just earn starfruit by playing Fruit Ninja, which I've been doing for the last few hours since the update went live. Fruit Ninja for iPhone and Fruit Ninja HD for iPad are available in the App Store for $0.99 and $2.99, respectively. This latest update to both versions of Fruit Ninja is being pushed in celebration of the second anniversary of the game. No wonder it's so fruity!
