Report: Apple Purchases Redmatica

May 30, 2012
As the technology world waits to see what new hardware Apple will announce at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, we have some interesting software news to report. Apple is said to have just acquired Redmatica, a small startup that specializes in digital music editing applications, according to the Italian blog Fanpage (via TechCrunch.) This news suggests Apple could use Redmatica’s technology in future versions of GarageBand and Logic Pro. With sales of less than $125,000 per year, Redmatica currently sells four pieces of software, including Keymap Pro. Each is designed specifically for Mac users. Apple has yet to confirm this acquisition. Source: Fanpage (via TechCrunch)
