The Long And Painful Wait For 3-D Puzzle Platformer This Could Hurt Is Finally Over

May 10, 2012
Nearly three weeks after giving you a sneak peek at This Could Hurt, we're pleased to inform you that this great-looking platformer from Chillingo is now out in the App Store. We hope the wait wasn't too painful. At first glance, This Could Hurt has the makings of a 3-D tower defense game. But a closer inspection reveals that the game can be more accurately described as a self-defense game. In This Could Hurt, you play as an Oakguard apprentice tasked to conquer the Path of Pain in order to become a full-fledged protector of your village's life-giving Great Oak. And as you might have already reckoned, treading the Path of Pain is by no means a walk in the park. Set in a 3-D isometric world, This Could Hurt dares you to advance and hold back at the right moments and places as you try to dodge the different dangerous contraptions that block your way. The game uses a simple one-touch control scheme that lets you stop on your tracks by tapping and holding on the screen. To help you on your journey, acorns are scattered across the game's levels for you to pick up and use in unlocking a variety of power-ups. Containing four game environments with 10 levels each, This Could Hurt is available now in the App Store as a universal game very reasonably priced at only $0.99. Would it hurt to take this game for a spin? Definitely not.
