The App Star Awards: Third Edition winners have been announced. This event, which is sponsored by AppsFire, is a contest that highlights and rewards new and upcoming iOS apps — before they even hit the App Store.

This year’s top three winners are as follows:

First Place: Mooklet (Free)

Mooklet is an application that allows you to create and publish an original Photo Story Book. Mooklet won $10,000 worth of advertisements, a new iPad, and $300 of ChupaMobile Credits.

Second Place: Babble Planet (Not yet released)

Babble Planet is a social game for kids that helps them learn spoken English. Babble Planet won $2,000 worth of advertisements, a new iPad, and $200 of ChupaMobile Credits.

Third Price: Zap Guitar (Not yet released)

Zap Guitar lets you play any song without knowing a single chord. Zap Guitar won an iPod touch and $100 of ChupaMobile Credits.
