Is Street Fighter X Tekken Coming To iOS?

June 7, 2012
The growing presence of handheld titles at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is great news for anyone that's been phasing out their consoles, especially when developers of hit console titles are the using their skills and gaming know-how to bring "real" games to mobile devices. Earlier this week, Square-Enix teased three new games for iOS and Android, while Gameloft showed off The Amazing Spider-Man. Now, TouchArcade reports that Capcom (Street Fighter IV Volt, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2) may be bringing their latest fighter to iOS. At Capcom's booth at E3, there is a demo of Street Fighter X Tekken running on appears to be the fourth generation iPod touch. The demo features the some virtual joypad as Capcom's other offerings. It is unclear whether the demo features the same engine or graphics as the iOS version of Street Fighter IV, but judging from the images, it's difficult to say. Nothing is set in stone as far as creating a full iOS version of the title goes, but it wouldn't be surprising. Capcom has proven very capable with their current offerings, and with a 9/10 rating from IGN for the console version of Street Fighter X Tekken, an iOS port would likely be a hit.
