The puzzle strategy game BraveSmart has updated to version 2.0 recently with the addition of more levels and other new features.

BraveSmart is a match three game set in a comical Scottish world. Players attempt to combine resources intuitively to help colonize the world. For example, three stones can make a smithy, three wood piles make a hut, while three building make a warhouse. In later stages of the game, players can even attempt to make a castle.

Here’s a quick trailer on how the game works. Click here if you can’t see the video.

The latest version adds 27 new maps with a wide variety of obstacles like Scots, sheep, walls, and wood.

After feedback from players, the difficulty factor of the game has also been toned down a bit. But developer flaregames said the app is still a combination of fun and challenging.

To also help players, the objectives on some levels have been adjusted and the tools are better explained. Players also have time to practice. And if you ever get stuck on a level, you can instantly restart to try again.

Along with adding a preview of the building players are attempting to construct, the app also has a completely revised map and world structure to offer a better challenge over more levels

BraveSmart is a universal app that can be played on both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It can be downloaded free in the App Store, but does feature a plethora of in-app purchases to buy any number of crowns, the currency of the game.

While I’m not a big fan of in-app game purchases, BraveSmart definitely is a pretty big challenge, even with the new changes, and I’m looking forward to seeing how far I can progress.
