June 19, 2012
Smule has just launched Ocarina 2 - the sequel to its popular Ocarina application - in the App Store. Just like its predecessor, the all-new Ocarina 2 provides users with a virtual ancient flute that can be played by blowing air into an iPhone's microphone. However, far from being a mere replica, the sequel provides fans with a brand-new song mode, along with a refreshed selection of Ocarina tracks for users to play through. As outlined in the app's release notes, tracks available to play in Ocarina 2 include:
  • Theme from Zelda
  • Mario Brothers Theme
  • X-Files
  • Apologize – One Republic
  • Baby – Justin Bieber
  • Bad Romance – Lady Gaga
  • Clocks – Coldplay
  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
  • Ave Maria – Bach
  • Clair de Lune – Debussy
  • And much, much more!
Furthermore, users have the option of requesting additional songs from Smule. Besides the great selection of songs, Ocarina 2 also provides users with a brand-new "Whistle Mode," along with the option of gaining a number of Game Center achievements. Additionally, users can also rate, comment and listen in on other Ocarina performances from within the application. Best of all, Ocarina 2 is available to download for free in the App Store. Take a look at the new application now, and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments.
