The Amazing Spider-Man To Web-Sling In The App Store Soon

June 6, 2012
It looks like Spider-Man will soon be back not only in theaters but also on our iDevices. In anticipation of the release of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in July, Gameloft has once again partnered with Marvel and Sony Pictures to develop a mobile game featuring our favorite friendly neighborhood superhero. Recently, the renowned game developer joined forces with Sony Pictures for the launch of a time and resource management based on "Men in Black 3." More notably, though, Gameloft worked with Marvel in Spider-Man: Total Mayhem, which proved to be a hit in the App Store. Given its previous fruitful collaborations with both studios and its experience with the character, Gameloft is expected to come out with a game that's worthy of Spidey's web-slinging ways. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. As can be surmised from the trailer above, Gameloft's The Amazing Spider-Man is a 3-D open-world game that sees the title character defending his beloved New York City. True to its source material's story, the game treats the Lizard as its main villain, against whom Spider-Man is poised to fight. What I'm most looking forward to seeing, though, is how the game incorporates Peter Parker's crush on Gwen Stacy. The Amazing Spider-Man is set to swing its way to the App Store on June 28, a day before the movie's premiere in India and the Philippines and nearly a week before its release in the U.S.
