In late April, XRay Software released Natural Basketball, an addictive three point and free throw shootout game for iPhone. Now, by popular demand, XRay is providing a native iPad version, Natural Basketball HD at an amazing introductory price.
Natural Basketball is a physics-based sports game where players rapidly shoot hoops from the free throw and three point lines in an attempt to accumulate the most amount of points. Matches are two minutes long and allow an unlimited number of balls to be shot. Basically, think of it as a typical shooting practice drill.
Gameplay is simple, yet challenging to perfect. Using a single finger, tap and hold the ball within the launch area, then perform a swipe gesture with release to shoot the ball towards the hoop. Realistic physics allow for off the floor shot scoring and can result in some nail-biting action. In addition, you have the opportunity to make a slam dunk from a rebound.
Scoring is based on accuracy, the type of shot used, and combinations. A standard score is worth four points, but there are multipliers: a perfect shot is 5x, from out of the screen is 4x, off the ground is 3x, and a slam dunk is 2x. For example, if you miss an off-screen shot and then rebound it for a dunk, you’ll earn a total of 24 points.
To spice things up, XRay offers eight unlockable basketballs and five unlockable courts. While the court themes are strictly an appearance change, the b-balls feature different characteristics, including further score multipliers. You can think of each one as a kooky power-up or utilize the differences to fit your preference of play.
Natural Basketball HD is compatible with iPad running iOS 4.2 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download, only for a limited time.
