Tired of iPhone rumors? You’re not alone. Still, the rumor stories continue and this time it includes an image. According to the Chinese-based cell phone case vendor coolzonepda.com.cn, the images above are of Apple’s sixth generation handset.
As you can see, the would-be handset appears to feature a 4-inch display, thinner case, and a new 19-pin dock connector. In other words, the images match previously “leaked” specifications of the next iPhone.
Gizmodo lists some of the reasons the images may or may not be accurate.
Among their findings, both for and against:
The possibility is certainly there. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time that someone got their hands on an unreleased iPhone model smuggled out of a factory.
… On the other hand, this may be just a custom-made test prototype based on the rumored specifications and leaked parts. Maybe that’s why they are not showing it up close and not making a big deal out of it.
Our take, per usual, is that until Apple actually releases a new iPhone, images like these are suspect at best.
In other words, carry on.
