Complement Your Jailbreak App Switcher With SpringMusic Controls

August 18, 2012
Jailbreak app switchers are great because, let's face it, the native one Apple added in iOS 4 isn't all that wondrous. However, one of the problems with replacing the built in multitasking tray with something like CardSwitcher is that jailbreakers lose out on accessing music controls. Fortunately one new jailbreak tweak can help out. It's called SpringMusic, and can be downloaded now in the Cydia Store for free. Once jailbreakers have installed SpringMusic on their jailbroken iDevice, you can hook the tweak up with Activator and assign it an action. This could be a double press of the Home button, a swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone's screen, or anything you choose. After doing this, when users activate SpringMusic via the preassigned Activator action a set of music controls will appear. The music control interface displays track names, an AirPlay button, and the more standard play, pause and skip controls you'd expect to see. Though the interface is somewhat mediocre, the ability to easily use SpringMusic alongside a third-party app switcher is what makes this jailbreak tweak worth the download. Currently, SpringMusic is available to download in the Cydia Store for free, via the BigBoss repository. For more information, take a look at the below video walkthrough.
