MacPhun Wants To Help Brighten Your Photos And Your Day With Big Savings To Celebrate ColorStrokes For Mac

August 3, 2012
When Color Splash Studio came to iOS in June, the occasion was certainly notable, but it didn't seem out of the norm. However, only a few weeks later, MacPhun posted an unexpected contest for promoting the upcoming update, which pledged "new exceptional features" and a "fresh new name." A month later, those promises became a reality in ColorStrokes v2.0 for iPhone. Today, we're sharing the news that the Mac version of Color Splash Studio has also been reborn with the ColorStrokes name and new features, plus reminders about discounts and the chance for freebies. The most significant of those "exceptional" new features is ReColor. Instead of revealing the native colors of the photo, this new custom color fill feature allows painting portions of the image in colors of your choosing, such as purple mist or rainbow fish. In addition to ReColor, ColorStrokes includes another nifty modification tool, effects, and a rearranged user interface to provide convenient access to both new and old capabilities. The revised UI consists of several changed button icons, streamlined tool control panels, and a ReColor tool access button joining Pan, Grayscale, and Native Color, formerly Color. Beyond the app enhancements, MacPhun is reinstating the discounted prices, continuing the free Mac version as a gift program for all who own the iPhone version, and Mac version copies for those who don't yet own any ColorStrokes apps. To have a chance at winning one of six ColorStrokes for OS X promo codes, leave a comment below telling us what your favorite type of photo is, such as city skylines or group photos, before August 3 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Only one entry per person is allowed. Please be sure to also check your junk email boxes so you won’t miss out if you win. ColorStrokes for iOS is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later, and available in the App Store for the limited time price of just $0.99. ColorStrokes for Mac is compatible with an Apple computer running OS X 10.6 or later, and available in the Mac App Store for the limited time price of just $4.99.
