Pictorial 2 ($0.99) by CloudGears UG (haftungsbeschrankt) is a puzzle game that requires spatial reasoning and maybe a love for stained glass windows. Swipe and turn your way to a more relaxed and exercised brain with this fun game.
Players are shown a group of shapes that look like random shards of glass. By turning the cluster around at different angles, an image forms. If you alter the angle just right, the correct image appears and you move on to the next level.
This game is a lot like the popular puzzle game Coign of Vantage except that players are scored by how long it takes to complete a puzzle instead of running down a clock. Additionally, Pictorial 2 includes more spatial reasoning obstacles like having to rotate the image or shapes disappearing.
For example, in one puzzle, players must spin the cluster of glass shards around, looking for the correct shape. Every couple of seconds some of the shards may disappear, making it more difficult to understand what picture is supposed to appear. On top of that, once the image clicks into place, the player will have to rotate it into an upright position.
There are 85 levels in the “Studio” and more are promised in a future update. Each level must be completed before the next can be unlocked. Players get two free “solutions,” which solve a difficult puzzle. You can buy additional solutions through in-app purchases, but they really aren’t necessary. You are scored by how fast you can complete a puzzle, but you’ll never lose the game.
This is a fantastic puzzle game with stunning graphics. Fans of spatial reasoning will love how beautiful this app looks. It’s too bad it is not optimized for the iPad. This is a great looking game. For the low price of only $0.99, this game should not be passed up.
