Are you looking to purchase a new iPhone? Do you mind if that new iPhone is an iPhone 4S rather than the much-anticipated “iPhone 5”? If, for some reason, you don’t mind at all, then Walmart has something for you.
The popular retail chain has just announced a significant price drop on its iPhone 4S stocks. Through a post on its official Facebook page, Walmart has informed customers that it’s slashing $40 off the 16GB model of the current generation of Apple’s mobile phone:
Amazing savings alert–starting on 8/23 at 9am local time, the iPhone 4S (16G) will drop to $148, down from $188!
Select stores, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon customers, while supplies last, restrictions apply.
As stated in the not-so-fine print in Walmart’s ad above, the offer is valid with a new two-year contract or a qualifying upgrade.
Of course, this markdown is just one of the many iPhone 4/4S clearance sales of sorts being done by retailers and carriers alike, what with the launch of the next-generation iPhone expected to be held on Sept. 12.
It’s also worth noting that this offer arrives just a few days after Walmart applied a $20 discount on its stock of $100 iTunes electronic gift cards. But, as some of our readers have pointed out, taking advantage of said discount is a hit-and-miss affair.
Will you be taking advantage of Walmart’s latest offer on the iPhone 4S? Before you make a mistake, I mean, purchase, remember that the so-called iPhone 5 is a mere three weeks away …
