Even though you’re probably still enjoying the spectacular AppAdvice wallpapers, it may be time for a temporary change. In which case, we have a wallpaper app that provides nearly 300 different individual choices, plus a wallpaper builder for both lock and home screens.
The predefined wallpaper designs are separated into three categories: App Shelves, Icon Skins, and Backgrounds. For each of these, you can browse by selecting from a grid or sliding through them in full screen with left or right swipes. When viewing in full screen, perform a pinch or expand to zoom and a single tap to hide or show the toolbar. On the toolbar is a back button, save to iOS camera roll button, and a show or hide sample icons button.
At this point, we have a standard wallpaper app, and one that could satisfy most iOS decorating needs. However, ScreenDIY doesn’t contain DIY for nothing. Accessed under the category selections in the main menu are wallpaper constructors. As obviously labeled, one is for creating a lock screen background while the other is for home screen wallpaper creation.
Within both of these wallpaper manufacturing areas are two additional options on the toolbar: image import and layer selection. What we mean by layer selection is the ability to mix and match foreground items, such as shelves or borders, with backgrounds to create your own unique look. As mentioned, you can also use a custom image or photo as a background, along with the foreground items.
No matter which method, predefined or custom created, just save the wallpapers to the iOS camera roll and apply them using the steps outlined here.
ScreenDIY is designed for iPhone and iPod touch, including Retina display equipped iDevices. You can try it out for free by downloading the “lite” version, which contains a reduced size wallpaper collection.
