TripIt, one of the best travel assistant apps, was initially optimized for iPad in May of 2011. Since then, users have been provided Retina display support, map system enhancements, and now push notifications, Dashboard on iPad, as well as more map improvements.

The introduction of an iPad-optimized user interface allowed quick navigation thanks to the ability to display multiple panes at once, such as all of your trips and the overview that goes with them. On the other hand, the limited screen space iPhone and iPod touch UI included the Dashboard, a quick overview of the number of trips, travel program reward points, and TripIt Pro alerts. As of TripIt v3.5, that even more efficient UI layout is now available on iPad.

In addition to TripIt Pro subscribers gaining quick alert viewing within the app on any device and via email or text, v3.5 offers push notifications. Who doesn’t want the convenience of receiving gate change, price change, delay, and cancellation warnings, plus reminders instantly on their iDevice home screen? Of course, we all do.

That’s it for the update news, and your queue to download a copy of TripIt for all of your iDevice in preparation of your next vacation or business trip.
