Merge Jailbreak Tweak Combines iMessages Sent From The Same Contact

October 1, 2012
A new jailbreak tweak that promises to greatly improve the iMessage experience has recently appeared in the Cydia Store. After downloading and installing the tweak, "Merge" will combine iMessages sent from the same contact in the Messages app (rather than separating iMessage-threads sent from different addresses). This makes the experience feel all the more unified, and jailbreakers using Merge will find that replying to iMessages on their iDevice will be much easier once the jailbreak tweak has been installed. As the developer notes:
Merge improves Messages by combining all messages by contact instead of by address. Instead of each contact’s phone number or email using its own conversation thread, Merge combines them all together and marks a line to show you which number or email is being used. Merge also offers a quick way to switch the address you are sending to. To change to a different address in a conversation, hold down the Contact button or contact icon on the iPad to choose another address to send to. Holding the contact’s name down in the New Message composition view allows you to switch addresses also.
Below, we've embedded a walkthrough video of Merge. Take a look at our video and if you're interested in downloading Merge, you can find it in the Cydia Store (via the ModMyi repository) for $1.49. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIIgUgSCADQ
