Angry Birds Star Wars Gameplay Trailer Shows Luke Brandishing A Lightsaber

With just a little less than two weeks before Angry Birds Star Wars is released, Rovio has posted the first gameplay trailer from the title on its YouTube account. And it looks like a lot fun.

While the gameplay looks very similar to the previous incarnations of Angry Birds, the video does show some unique twists.
In the very short clip, Luke is shown on Tatooine wielding a lightsaber against the pigs from the dark side. And Leia is at the Battle of Hoth battling porkers and some AT-AT walkers with some interesting powers.
Rovio has promised a more comprehensive gameplay trailer on Nov. 5. The game will be released for iOS devices and other computing platforms on Thursday, Nov. 8.
Originally announced earlier this month, popular characters like Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan Kenobi will also take on bird roles.

Angry Birds creator Rovio has definitely been on a roll in 2012. The “sequel” to Angry Birds, Bad Piggies, was released in September and quickly rocketed to the top position in the App Store paid charts.
