Lemon Wallet, the “fruity” app that lets you digitize your billfold, has just received a major update.

Lemon Wallet is actually an evolved version of the app formerly known as Lemon – Receipts Refreshed. As might be surmised from its name, Lemon – Receipts Refreshed aided in the digitization of sales receipts, thereby giving consumers an idea of their spending habits.

But back in June, Lemon – Receipts Refreshed was completely redesigned into essentially what it is now: the Passbook-like Lemon Wallet.

Of course, with its new name came its new main purpose, that is, the digital storage of the cards in your wallet.

Be they cards for identification, insurance, loyalty, and payment, Lemon Wallet can digitize them for you. It can do so by letting you taking photos of your cards, whereupon they are automatically added to your cloud-based digital wallet.

The basic services offered in Lemon Wallet are available for free. But a couple of paid upgrade plans, Plus and Pro, are also available if you want more Lemon Wallet features.

In the updated version of Lemon Wallet, you can now buy Plus or Pro plans for a monthly fee of $4.99 or $9.99, respectively, using your iTunes account through in-app purchase. Upgrade features include receipt sharing, data export, lost wallet service, and more.

The updated version of the app also brings the following improvements:

  • User profile enhancements
  • Barcodes in card details
  • Receipt stuck in uploading force cancel
  • Optional location service
  • Card zoom/landscape mode enabled
  • Notification enhancement
  • Card details contain more info with user profile data
  • Simple Cards Wizard. Create your own Cards!

Designed for iPhone, but not yet optimized for iPhone 5, the newly updated Lemon Wallet is available in the App Store for free.
