Today’s Best Apps features the most promising releases from the last 24 hours. Thousands of apps get approved by Apple daily and we hand-select what we think are the new potential gems that we’re considering for review each day.

Universal:

CamRuler by Outcast Enterprises ($1.99, 7.2 MB): Use your iOS device's camera to measure things with this app. The app comes preloaded with objects that you can use to calibrate the ruler. Once you have done that, you can measure anything with the app alone. CamRuler allows you to choose between many common units of measurement as well.

iPhone:

World of Blocks by WB Soft LLC ($0.99, 56.2 MB): World of Blocks is a casual arcade game for the iPhone. The objective of the game is to hit all the blocks off the platform with your team of cannon balls. Each cannon ball has a distinct characteristic that makes it useful for a situation. There are 65 levels in this game set across six mysterious locations.

PopCat by Brickbear Studios ($0.99, 16.6 MB): In PopCat you must pop cats of the same color and earn the most points. You have to strategically tap each cat so that you can set off a greater chain reaction. Magic Cats helps you change the color of cats during play. If you clear all of the cats you will get bonus points as well.

Snapp for App.net by Harry Works ($2.99, 4.0 MB): Snapp is a client for the App.net. The app allows you to easily interact with people on the network. You can see your stream, mentions, views of your profile, and conversations. The app also lets you upload pictures, and post content.

That’s it for today. Did we miss anything?
