Fitting for the month of October, although, enjoyable anytime, Running Dead brings the action-packed excitement of zombie movies into an endless running game. After the city becomes a feeding ground for cannibalistic creatures, your survival relies on both defensive and offensive skills.
Entirely alone, except for the zombie citizens, run through the streets and buildings as you dodge abandoned vehicles and other obstacles. Thankfully, there’s a little assistance in the form of firearms and mines. Packing a basic pistol at first, you’ll have the opportunity to collect shotguns, fully automatic weapons, better pistols, a crossbow, a chainsaw, and, of course, more ammo.
Even though the primary objective is to survive as long as possible, other goals include reaching the highest level, having the most kills, and earning the most points.
Running Dead features beautiful 3-D graphics, two difficulty levels, four characters, seven weapons, and iCloud integration. The game is compatible with iPad, iPhone 3GS, 32GB and 64GB third generation iPod touch and newer running iOS 4.3 or later, and rated 12+.
