Apple Pushes Out Modest, Yet Impressive App Store Update

Apple has made a small, but significant change to the design of the App Store. Category pages now feature more apps, larger banners, and more. Best of all, the changes are available on the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, as well as through iTunes on a Mac, according to news first uncovered by Tuaw. Each category page now includes its own “Featured” page, and a curated selection of top apps. In addition, a list of popular categories and a drop-down menu appear at the top on both the iPhone and iPad versions of the store. These modest changes are nonetheless impressive. In particular, developers should be happy since more apps can now be promoted thanks to the design change.  Users, meanwhile, will now see a store design that is pretty much the same on iOS and OS X.
