New Kickstarter Project Promises Galcon Sequel, Offers Snazzy Unicorn Horn

December 9, 2012
A new Kickstarter project (Galcon 2: Galactic Conquest) promises to develop a sequel to the popular, cross-platform real-time strategy game, Galcon. For as little as $10 Kickstarters can back the project and gain access to an early beta, but that's not all: the higher the bid, the snazzier the rewards - for $5,000, iOS fans could even bag "the one and only" Galconicorn horn! Phil Hassey, the developer and project creator, first developed the original Galcon when he was 15. Since, the game has evolved and spawned sequels, appearing on a multitude of platforms - and most recently on the iPhone and iPad. Now, Hassey has the concept for a new sequel to Galcon, and he wants to get it funded. Though Galcon 2 looks sweet, the "rewards" offered by the Kickstarter project are tempting. On offer is a Galcon fridge magnet set (for a $25 pledge), a Galcon 2 poster (for $50) and a goody bag (for $100), among others. If you pay the big bucks and pledge a massive $5,000, you'll receive the super-special Galconicorn horn. However, as mentioned above, pledges start from as little as $10. Hassey has until Jan. 7, 2013 to reach his $20,000+ goal. So far, almost $7,000 has been pledged. Head over to the Kickstarter project page to find out more, and let us know if you decide to back Galcon 2.
