Retro-fy Your Photos On Your iPad Or iPad mini With Retromatic HD

December 8, 2012
We here at AppAdvice instantly realized the potential of Retromatic as a photo editing app for iPhone when it was released last month. And we have the AppAdvice Game of the Week award for Retromatic to prove it. So, we're glad to report that the app now has a native iPad version in the form of Retromatic HD. Retromatic HD pretty much looks and works the same as the original Retromatic for iPhone does. Except that it's optimized for the larger screen of the iPad, that is. Of course, Retromatic HD, just like Retromatic, allows you to edit your photos in such a way that they turn out looking like retro posters from the early 20th century. Unsurprisingy, using Retromatic HD is not unlike using the original Retromatic. Indeed, you can easily draw parallels from the steps demonstrated by Robyn in her AppAdvice Slice episode, embedded below, showcasing Retromatic for iPhone last month. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. To use Retromatic HD, first take a new photo or load an existing one from your library. Then, highlight the outline of the subject of your photo, select a wallpaper and its accompanying color, and apply a filter. You can also add ornaments and text to your newly created retro poster. You can then save it on your device, email it, or share it via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. Compatible with iPad 2, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, and iPad mini, Retromatic HD is available now in the App Store for $4.99. Retromatic for iPhone is, of course, still available for three dollars less. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
