Deko is developed by iOS app developer Aero Deko. Aero Deko has previously published five other apps: the simple and beautiful counter Aecount, the ambient audiovisual clock Circlo, the music-for-the-galaxy Intergalactic FM, the experimental music toy Kontrol, and the ambient reaction game Revolve.
But it appears that Deko is the first app to be truly worthy of its creator’s name (or half of the name, at least).
Recently updated with user interface fixes, Deko is an app that lets you create random patterns to be used as wallpapers. And it lets you do so in an easy and interactive way.
When you launch Deko, a random pattern is generated. If you already find this pattern to your liking, you can save it to the in-app gallery or share it. If not, then go ahead and have fun with Deko’s interactive image creation method.
To slightly shift the current pattern’s shapes or colors, lighty swipe the screen from the right. The farther you swipe, the bigger the change the patten undergoes. Accordingly, a full swipe generates an entirely new design.
As mentioned, you can share your desired designs. You can share them via Twitter, Facebook, or email. You can also copy and save them to your photo library.
Moreoever, you can email, copy, and save the high-quality versions of the designs you fancy. But that’s only after unlocking the app’s high-quality export feature for $1.99.
Note that designs rendered in low-quality are noticeably pixelated. So, the high-quality export in-app purchase is needed if you’re serious about having a truly beautiful Deko wallpaper.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Deko is available in the App Store for free.
