Create Your Own Paper Critters With This New Papercraft App For iPad

February 25, 2013
The company that's said to be the original digital paper toy creator has finally brought Paper Critters to iOS. Paper Critters used to exist only as a Web tool that lets users create, well, paper critters. Specifically, these paper critters are little "blockheads" (in a somewhat literal sense) that may function as a toy or as a display figure. Each of these blockheads is first conceived on a plane onscreen. This plane is then printed out and cut up, with the resulting discrete pieces pasted together to form a 3-D paper toy model aka paper critter. And now, you can create your own paper critters (and shoot them "Harlem Shake"-style, as in the vide below) using the recently released Paper Critters for iPad, which is developed by Udonwannun. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The new Paper Critters papercraft app has the following key features:
  • Choose from themed stencil packs to personalize each toy
  • Real-time 3d preview
  • Interactive gallery
  • Print creations via Air-Print or PDF
  • Pre-saved example toys
  • Export and share your toys via email
  • Get more stencil packs as they are available via in-app purchase!
Compatible with iPad running iOS 4.3 or later, Paper Critters is available now in the App Store for $1.99. If you're interested in another papercraft app that's not necessarily designed to make paper critters, check out Foldify, which was released in December last year and updated earlier this month.
