Square Register 3.0 Introduces Item Library, Customizable Kitchen Tickets And More

April 29, 2013
Square Register, the point-of-sale app that works alongside the Square credit card reader, has just been updated to version 3.0. Version 3.0 of the universal app brings two sets of improvements, one set for its iPhone edition and another for its iPad edition. For iPhone, Square Register 3.0 introduces an item library, an enhanced payment pad, custom tipping, and a new look. With the new item library in Square Register for iPhone, you can easily add items to a sale. You can build your item library, even customize items with photos, names, and prices, to make checkouts quicker. The iPhone app's smarter payment pad also works to that end. It lets you add multiple custom amounts to a sale, add notes to each amount, and view or edit all amounts before charging. The newly updated Square Register for iPhone now also lets customers enter custom tip amounts. In addition, it carries a new design for recording amounts and editing settings. Just sync your Bluetooth barcode scanner with Square Register to take advantage of this new feature. Moreover, Square Register for iPad has gained a couple of improvements that are focused on restaurants, and these are:
  • Easy order modifiers: Customize orders at the counter and send them to your kitchen while your line keeps moving.
  • Customizable kitchen tickets: Include a custom name or number on each kitchen ticket.
So, restaurant owners and managers who use Square Register for iPad, rejoice! Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Square Register is available in the App Store for free. Square Wallet is also available in the App Store for free. As opposed to Square Register, which accepts payments, Square Wallet is used to pay with your iDevice at Square's partner establishments. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
