Amazon Introduces New Cloud Drive Photos App

May 10, 2013
If you’re getting tired of Photo Stream’s annoying limitations, Amazon has just introduced an interesting new option to access and view photos stored on its Cloud Drive service. When the Cloud Drive Photos app is running, images are automatically uploaded and stored in your Cloud Drive account. Probably the standout feature of the app is the ability to view photos stored in the cloud with an iPhone or through any Web browser, which is currently not possible with Photo Stream. And with the app, photos can also be shared on Facebook, Twitter, and via email. The cloud service gives 5GB of free space to users. If more space is needed, prices start at $10 per year for 20GB of space and can go all the way up to $500 per year for 1TB. Amazon Cloud Drive Photos is made for the iPhone/iPod touch but is compatible with the iPad. It can be downloaded now in the App Store for free. You must have iOS 6.0 or later installed to use the app. Amazon previously released a Cloud Player app for iOS devices almost a year ago that gives users access to music stored in the cloud. That app, which was updated this week, can also be downloaded in the App Store for free.
