With Customizable Brushes And Tools, Inkist For iPad Brings Out The Artist In You

A little over a year after the release of Inkist for Mac, here comes, at long last, Inkist for iPad. Just like Inkist for Mac, Inkist for iPad lets you draw, paint, sketch, and illustrate using professional-grade tools and brushes with highly customizable parameters. And just like Inkist for Mac, Inkist for iPad gives you everything you need and every relevant interface element right there on the screen. "This minimizes the number of taps needed to switch between tools and provides you with a faster, more streamlined drawing experience," notes Inkist developer Tai Shimizu. Tai Shimizu, by the way, is also the creator of the iOS photography apps Filterstorm and Gridditor, both of which have been featured here on AppAdvice. [caption id="attachment_419617" align="aligncenter" width="480"] Inkist[/caption] Aside from its support for customizable brushes and tools, Inkist for iPad boasts the following key features:
  • Stylus pressure sensitivity with Adonit Jot Touch, Pogo Connect and JaJa
  • Ability to screen out non-stylus touches with Adonit Jot Touch (Requires Jot Touch 4)
  • Ability to screen out non-stylus touches with Pogo Connect
  • Share layered files with Inkist/Inkist Lite Mac
  • Three layers with blend modes, opacity, and opacity locking settings
  • Import/export PNG, PSD (Photoshop), and proprietary ISImage file formats (PSD compatibility limitations listed below)
Compatible with iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Inkist is available now in the App Store. The app has a normal price of $3.99, but during its launch week, the app may be purchased for the special introductory price of only $1.99. In celebration of the release of Inkist for iPad, Inkist for Mac, which is normally priced at $9.99, is also on sale for $4.99 during the new app's launch week. Now that Inkist for iPad is out, perhaps an update to our Drawing With Your iPad AppGuide is in order. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
