Apple's 'Stanford 2' Store Features All New Glass Box Design

June 7, 2013
Images of Apple's in-progress "Stanford 2" store have surfaced online, and indicate that the forthcoming building is to feature a new "glass box and floating roof design," according to ifoAppleStore (pictured above and below). The website explains:
The store will be the first of three three to feature a new “glass box and floating roof” design. The architecture is intended to provide a 180-degree interior view of the store for passersby, and to give the structure an light and airy feeling.
Apple is set to use the same design for both its Portland, Ore. and its Aix-en-Provence, France stores. Apple's northern California Stanford 2 store is set to launch first, however, and could even open its doors before the year is out. Some of the company's most recent Apple Stores are situated in Berlin and South Australia. Apple is also planning on opening a further retail store in Beijing by the end of the year, and will hopefully do so before it launches the next-generation iPhone in China in order to avoid another egg-throwing catastrophe. Take a look at the below images of Apple's forthcoming Stanford 2 store, and see what you think of the new design. [gallery columns="2"]
