Slow Feeds Gains Feedly Support, Makes Syncing Faster For All Services

July 21, 2013
Slow Feeds, the iOS feed reader app that highlights low-frequency or "slow" feeds, has just added support for another Google Reader alternative, about three weeks after Google Reader was shut down for good. About three weeks before the termination of Google Reader, Slow Feeds was already updated with several Google Reader alternatives, namely, Feedbin, FeedHQ, and NewsBlur. Then, less than a week before the unfortunate event, the app added support for Feed Wrangler. This time, Slow Feeds has added support for what is arguably the most popular post-Google Reader feed aggregation service. I am, of course, referring to Feedly, which I myself have been using since Google Reader went kaput. In the new version of Slow Feeds, while Google Reader has been removed from the service selection screen, Feedly has been added as a service option. That's in addition to Feed Wrangler, Feedbin, FeedHQ, and NewsBlur. The new version of Slow Feeds is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $2.99 download. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.1 or later. The newly updated app also includes some bug fixes and makes syncing a bit faster for all services.
