AgileBits Has Some Big Plans For 1Password Mac This Fall

August 23, 2013
AgileBits has given us a sneak peak at upcoming changes coming later this year to 1Password for Mac. The new version includes a number of features already available on 1Password 4 for iOS including favorites, multi-site logins, and iCloud sync, plus others. These include:
  • More item types to help you secure even more of your stuff
  • Our browser extension is now native Cocoa. It’s the same for every browser and it packs some great new tricks.
  • Item Sharing between iOS and Mac apps via encrypted iMessage and email
  • There’s a new menubar icon that looks pretty interesting
  • New ways to get proactive about your security. Example: check out the new Sort tool at the top of the item list (see screenshots) with options like Frequency Used and Duplicate Passwords—these are quite useful new ways you can analyze your habits and existing items, then make decisions and improve them
  • Custom Fields can now be added to most items so you can make them your own
AgileBits notes that 1Password 4 for Mac will be a free upgrade to all Mac App Store customers. It will also be a free upgrade to website customers who purchased on or after Jan. 1, 2013. Upgrade prices for earlier website customers have yet to be announced. We've received a number of screenshots for 1Password for Mac 4. These are included below. AgileBit's 1Password for iOS is universal and available for $17.99. The Mac version is priced at $49.99.
