Tempo Smart Calendar Adds Company Card, Birthday Gifting And Other Features
Tempo, the smart calendar app whose AI stems from the same incubator where Siri was created, has just received a rather significant update. Apparently, Tempo's already impressive AI has been improved further in order to understand companies as well as people and locations. From this interesting development comes the launch of the Company Card in the newly updated Tempo:
With the Company Card, you can discover more about the companies and people you’re meeting with -- in context of your calendar and what’s next. The feature identifies and surfaces your personal network at a company so you can easily identify who you know and find common connections. It also includes the latest company news, company websites, and descriptions, as well as one-touch directions to the company’s office. For easy browsing, there are links to the company’s profile on CrunchBase, Google News, and Yahoo! Finance. The latest update to Tempo also launches a new gifting feature made possible in partnership with Yiftee. Now, you can send birthday gifts to your Facebook friends with the new "send a gift" button in Tempo. You can choose a gift card from the likes of 1-800-flowers, Banana Republic, Sephora, and T.G.I. Friday's. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Moreover, the update adds support for POP email accounts. This means that you can now connect Tempo to your accounts on Hotmail, MSN, Outlook.com, Comcast, SBCglobal, and Verizon, to name a few. Note, though, that unlike other types of email accounts, POP email accounts can be searched by Tempo only at the inbox level and not for related documents. The new version of Tempo Smart Calendar is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later. The newly updated app also includes iOS 7 beta support, speed improvements, bug fixes, and an increase in the number of allowable connected email accounts (from 3 to 4).
