Welcome back to our weekly look at some of the newest accessories hitting the market. This week, we’re highlighting a portable Bluetooth speaker, a tool for photographers, and more.
Buckshot from Outdoor Tech
Outdoor Tech is at it again with another interesting Bluetooth speaker. The company, well-known for its Turtle Shell
, has just introduced the Buckshot. Designed for cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts, the exterior of the speaker is rubberized and rugged while offering both shock resistance and protection from dust. An IPX-5 rating means the speaker can also handle splashes of liquid without an issue.
A universal mount allows the speaker to be mounted to a bicycle’s handlebar, or anything similar. With a streaming range of 32 feet, the battery can last up to 10 hours without needing to be recharged. A built-in microphone also allows users to take hands-free calls.
Retailing for $49.95
, the Buckshot can be purchased from Outdoor Tech’s site now.
Luxi Incident Light Meter
A small diffusion dome that fits over an iPhone’s front-facing camera, the Luxi can turn the handset into a incident light meter. When paired with a light meter app, the Luxi will give accurate light readings to make sure that photographers can achieve a perfectly exposed shot. The meter measures the amount of light falling on a subject.
Other light meters used by professional photographers are sometimes prohibitively expensive and take up valuable space in a camera bag. But the Luxi looks like a great alternative.
You can snag the light meter for $29.99 now at Bite My Apple
. There is a version for both the iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5.
SurfSound-TALK from Pyle Audio
While the new SurfSound-TALK from Pyle Audio looks like a nice waterproof Bluetooth speaker, its standout feature is easily the ability to take private calls as a handset. Waterproof and dustproof, the rechargeable battery can operate for up to 8 hours without needing to be recharged. An included metal carabineer allows music lovers to take the speaker almost anywhere.
The SurfSound-TALK is available in white, blue, and black and can be ordered directly from Pyle for $64.99 now
