Fiksu Launches An iOS 7 And iPhone 5s/5c Usage Tracker

September 18, 2013
Want to know how many people are using iOS 7 and the new iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s? Look no further than the new usage tracker from Fiksu. Available at fiksu.com, the tracker is based on active users, with each snapshot representing a single "10M-event chuck of data." Fiksu notes that because of this, “sampling can introduce error.” As noted on the tracker page:
Data sampled hourly in batches of approximately 10M events from all apps using the Fiksu SDK, with events include app launches, in-app purchases, and registrations, then filtered to count unique devices. Devices are counted using Apple's Advertising Identifier, which eliminates any versions previous to iOS 6.
Apple officially launches iOS 7 today, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. PDT. New iPhones are scheduled to arrive this Friday, Sept. 20. Something tells me that Fiksu's tracking tool is going to look at lot different in the coming hours, and days.
