Google Shopping Express was made available in beta earlier this year in some target markets in San Francisco. But now, Google has expanded its coverage to the greater Bay Area, from San Francisco to San Jose. At the same time, the company has launched an official iOS app for the service.
Competing against Amazon Prime and eBay Now, Google Shopping Express allows customers to shop for various products from various national, regional, and local stores and have their orders delivered to them on the same day:
Imagine having everything you need delivered from local stores to your doorstep. Tackling your to-do list in minutes—not hours. And saving your weekends for the things you actually want to do. It’s all possible with Google Shopping Express.
Participating stores include American Eagle, Blue Bottle Coffee, DODOcase, Guitar Center, L’Occitane, Lucky, Office Depot, Palo Alto Toy & Sport, Photojojo, Raley’s Nob Hill Foods, REI, Staples, Target, Toys R Us/Babies R Us, Walgreens, and Whole Foods Market.
Google Shopping Express is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
Google Shopping Express charges $4.99 per store. But you can get a free membership with six months of free, unlimited same-day deliveries by signing up for the service now.
