Popular Social Magazine Apps Pulse And Zite Get Optimized For iOS 7

September 19, 2013
Following the release of Flipboard's iOS 7 update, a couple of other popular social magazine apps have also received their updates for Apple's new mobile operating system. I'm talking about Pulse and Zite, both of which have been updated to match their respective user interfaces with the look and feel of iOS 7. Basically, both apps have been redesigned to be flatter in appearance and easier to navigate at the same time. In addition, Pulse has been updated to support iOS 7's Background App Refresh feature. Enabling this for Pulse allows the app to download new content in the background and be up-to-date every time you open it. As for Zite, it has also been updated with the following specific tweaks:
  • Changed app and reader fonts to improve readability
  • Enhanced thumb up/down experience in section pages
  • Card layouts have been improved to showcase larger images
  • Redesigned menu layout, allowing for main pages to be accessed more quickly with tabs
  • Bezel swipe to close articles in reader and web mode
  • Swipe left and hold to quickly open the Quicklist on the iPhone
  • Bezel swipe to navigate to the previous section
The new versions of Pulse and Zite are available now in the App Store for free. Pulse is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, while Zite is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
