Popular Twitter Client Echofon Updated To Version 7.0 For iOS 7
Echofon, one of the most popular and enduring Twitter clients for iOS, has just been updated to version 7.0 for iOS 7. "Change always means opportunity," says developer Ubermedia in the release notes for Echofon 7.0. Indeed, the arrival of iOS 7 has been an opportunity for Echofon to get a fresh coat of paint. A fresh coat of predominantly white paint, that is. The structure of Echofon is exactly the same, with bottom navigation tabs on the main screen plus profile options and app settings on an auxiliary screen. But now it's laid out in an interface that's based on the design guidelines of iOS 7. The new interface also supports iOS 7's convenient edge-swipe back-navigation gesture. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The new iOS 7-ready version of Echofon Pro, which doesn't show ads, is now also available in the App Store for $4.99. Echofon Pro can also be unlocked in the free Echofon app via a $4.99 in-app purchase. Echofon is one of the first Twitter clients to be released on iOS. And it remains a great free alternative to Twitter's free official iOS app, which was redesigned for iOS 7 at the same time the new operating system was launched a week ago. Also a week ago, another one of the first iOS Twitter clients, Twitterrific, was redesigned for iOS 7, even as its previous interface already looked and felt right at home on iOS 7.
