Tumblr For iOS Updated With Push Notifications For Likes, Reblogs And More

September 20, 2013
The official iOS app of the popular social blogging app Tumblr has just received a new update. Arriving just a day after the launch of iOS 7, this new update may be expected to add some iOS 7-inspired tweaks to Tumblr for iOS. In reality, though, it doesn't. Rather, it adds a couple of improvements that make it easier for you to find out about the latest activity on your Tumblr blogs. First and foremost, the Tumblr app has been updated with support for push notifications for likes, reblogs, replies, and new followers. The Tumblr staff notes in a new blog post:
Tumblr for iPhone and iPad now supports push notifications! Any time someone follows you or interacts with your posts, we’ll send an update to your phone right away.
And if you happen to be "Tumblr-famous" and get a lot of notifications, you can control which ones you receive by going to the Settings section under the Account tab. From there, you can choose to receive notifications from "Everyone," from "People you follow," or from "Nobody" for each of your blogs. Apart from push notifications, the newly updated Tumblr app lets you see the latest activity on any of your blogs through the new Activity section under the Account tab. The new version of Tumblr is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
