Yelp Gets New Photo Viewer, New Search Filter UI And A Couple Of Other Improvements

September 7, 2013
Yelp has just been updated to version 7.1. Version 7.1 of the popular local search and review app comes less than a month after its 7.0 update. Released in mid-August, Yelp 7.0 introduced, at long last, support for adding reviews right from the iOS app just by visiting any business page and tapping "add review." This time, Yelp 7.1 introduces a new photo viewer and a new search filter interface:
Two of our summer interns, Max and Alton, locked themselves into a conference room back in May with a three-month supply of Red Bull and Power Bars. When they emerged this week they were sporting glorious beards and presented us with a brand new photo viewer and search filter ui. Now all photos display who added them and who liked them and Yelp search got even more powerful with lots of new attributes that you can filter by.
The new version of Yelp also lets you tap on any review highlight to browse through all of the reviews that mention that particular review highlight. In addition, Yelp now, at long last, indicates places you've bookmarked in your search results. Yelp 7.1 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Yelp is listed as an "essential app" in our Local Advice Apps AppGuide and as a "notable app" in our Best Restaurant Finders AppGuide. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
