Lost And Found: Search Makes Its Comeback In Official Vimeo App For iPhone

October 16, 2013
The official iOS app of Vimeo has just been updated with a new major feature. Actually, said major feature is not really new. Rather, it's a sorely missed feature that was surprisingly removed from Vimeo for iOS following the app's big iOS 7 update. Without further ado (all right, maybe a short drumroll is in order), the feature in question is none other than search:
* Drumroll * Search is back on iPhone! Go forth and discover great vids.
As it turned out, search was left by the Vimeo team out of the app's iOS 7 update on account of the update's "crazy deadline." Fortunately, the functionality has now been restored, albeit on iPhone and iPod touch only. Perhaps the app's iPad edition is set to get search in the next update. To search for videos in Vimeo for iPhone and iPod touch, just pull down to reveal the search bar at the top and enter your search keywords. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The new version of Vimeo is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Vimeo's iOS 7 update, by the way, featured video thumbnails, AirDrop support, and instant video playback (even when offline) for the most recent videos in the Watch Later and My Videos sections. Of course, a revamped interface was also part of the update. Earlier today, the official iOS app of YouTube, Vimeo's foremost competitor, received an update that enables users to choose the video quality when on Wi-Fi. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
