Official iOS App Of Anki Drive Updated Ahead Of Real-World Racing Game's Launch

October 21, 2013
A couple of days before the launch of the highly anticipated real-world racing game, the official iOS companion app of Anki Drive has been updated to version 2.0. Unveiled on the WWDC 2013 stage last June, Anki Drive is an iOS-connected, AI-powered racing game that is touted as the first and only one of its kind:
The game consists of physical cars that race around a track (hardware sold separately). Anki DRIVE cars make thousands of decisions every second, allowing them to drive at high speeds and turn on a dime. Each car is equipped with unique skills and has its own set of weapons and defenses. Earn points to make your car faster, more agile, or upgrade your weapons and shields.
And with the newly updated Anki Drive iOS app, you can take control of your car to race against friends or the AI. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Prior to its 2.0 update, the Anki Drive app offered information on the technology behind the game, the mechanics of the game, and the cars that are the stars of the game. Now, the app serves as the key to Anki Drive, including a setup tutorial and various control options. The Anki Drive iOS app is available in the App Store for free. It’s optimized for play using an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, fifth-generation iPod touch, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, and iPad mini. Of course, the app requires an Anki Drive set. Anki Drive will be available starting Oct. 23 from Apple’s retail stores and online stores in the U.S. and Canada. Its starter kit, which contains two cars, a fast charger, a tire cleaner, and a race track, costs $199. The two additional cars can be purchased for $69 each. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
